A heat pump cools your home in summer and heats it in winter, so when it fails you lose both. We repair ducted heat pumps and heat pump split systems in San Diego, La Jolla and Chula Vista, including newer systems in homes that have gone all-electric.
Same-day appointments when the schedule allows. Call (424) 666-0085.
Heat pumps share many parts with air conditioners, plus a few of their own: the reversing valve that switches between heating and cooling, the defrost board and the sensors that run it. We diagnose all of them on site.

Heat Pumps, High Power Bills and the Move to Electric
Electricity in San Diego is expensive, so a heat pump running with a dirty coil, a weak capacitor or a slow refrigerant leak shows up quickly on your bill. Heat pumps are becoming more common across the county as homeowners go electric, from Clairemont ranch homes replacing old gas furnaces to ADUs in North Park backyards. Many high-rise condos Downtown and around UTC use water-source heat pumps in a closet, tied to the building's water loop. We work on all of these and coordinate with building management when the job needs it.

Heat Pump Repair Near You
We offer heat pump repair across San Diego, La Jolla and Chula Vista. Choose your area:
Why is my heat pump blowing cold air in heating mode?
It may be in a normal defrost cycle, which ends on its own after a short time. If the cold air keeps coming, common causes are a stuck reversing valve, a failed defrost board, low refrigerant or a thermostat that isn't set up for a heat pump. We test each one.
Is ice on my heat pump normal?
A light frost in cool, damp weather is normal, and the defrost cycle should clear it. A unit that stays coated in thick ice points to a defrost problem, low refrigerant or poor airflow, and it should be checked.
Do you repair heat pumps in condo buildings?
Yes. We repair in-unit water-source heat pumps and fan coils in high-rise condos, as well as split heat pumps with condensers on roofs and balconies. Tell us about your building when you call so we can plan access with management.
