San Diego winters are mild, but a chilly January night in a house with no heat still feels miserable. We repair gas forced-air furnaces, wall furnaces and floor furnaces in homes across San Diego, La Jolla and Chula Vista, from hall closet units to attic installs.
Same-day appointments when the schedule allows. Call (424) 666-0085.
Because furnaces here sit idle for most of the year, dust and age catch up with them the first cold week. Flame sensors, hot surface igniters, inducer motors, pressure switches and limit switches are the parts we replace most, and we check for safe venting before we leave.
Common Furnace Problems We Fix in San Diego
Furnace runs but blows cold air
Burners light, then shut off after a few seconds
Igniter glows but the burners never light
Blower won't come on, or never turns off
Strong smells or loud bangs when the heat starts
Wall or floor furnace pilot won't stay lit
Wall Furnaces, Floor Furnaces and Closet Units in San Diego Homes
Many older homes in North Park, Hillcrest, Mission Hills and Pacific Beach were built without central air and still rely on a gas wall furnace or a floor furnace set into the hallway. Post-war ranch homes in Clairemont, Bay Park and Allied Gardens usually have a forced-air furnace in a hall closet or the garage, with ducts running through the attic. Since heat is only needed for part of the year, these furnaces can go untouched for months while dust settles on the flame sensor and burners. We clean and test the safety controls on every furnace repair.

Furnace Repair Near You
We offer furnace repair across San Diego, La Jolla and Chula Vista. Choose your area:
The most common cause is a dirty flame sensor, which can't confirm the flame and shuts the gas off for safety. A blocked filter, a failing pressure switch or an overheating limit switch can do the same thing. We test the whole startup sequence and fix the actual cause.
Do you repair wall furnaces and floor furnaces?
Yes. We work on gas wall furnaces, including Williams units, and on floor furnaces in older San Diego homes. We check the pilot or ignition, the safety controls and the venting.
I smell gas near my furnace. What should I do?
Leave the house, don't flip switches or light anything, and call your gas utility from outside. Once the utility says it's safe, call us to repair the furnace.
Is it worth repairing an older furnace?
Usually, when the problem is a sensor, igniter, switch or motor. If the heat exchanger is cracked or the furnace keeps breaking down, we'll walk you through your options and let you know the cost first.
