When a September heat wave rolls in and your AC is blowing warm air, the house can get uncomfortable fast. HVAC Repair San Diego, CA repairs central air conditioners, split systems and package units at homes across San Diego, La Jolla and Chula Vista.
Same-day appointments when the schedule allows. Call (424) 666-0085.
Most AC breakdowns come down to a handful of parts: capacitors, contactors, condenser fan motors, clogged condensate drains and refrigerant leaks. We test the whole system, explain what failed and quote the repair before we pick up a tool.
Common AC Problems We Fix in San Diego
AC running but blowing warm air
Outdoor unit humming while the fan won't spin
Ice on the refrigerant lines or indoor coil
Water leaking from the indoor unit or drain pan
System won't turn on or keeps shutting off
Rattling, buzzing or grinding from the condenser
Coastal Salt Air, Inland Heat and Your Air Conditioner
San Diego asks two very different things of an air conditioner. Near the beaches in Pacific Beach, Mission Beach and La Jolla, salt air eats at condenser coils, fins and electrical connections, so a unit can fail long before it wears out. A few miles inland in Allied Gardens, Del Cerro and eastern Chula Vista, afternoons run much hotter, and the AC may run for hours during a fall heat wave or a Santa Ana event. On every AC repair we check the coil, the capacitor and the wiring, and we tell coastal customers when the coil needs a rinse.

AC Repair Near You
We offer AC repair across San Diego, La Jolla and Chula Vista. Choose your area:
The usual causes are a failed capacitor or condenser fan motor, a dirty or frozen coil, a clogged filter or low refrigerant from a leak. We test each one so you only pay for the part that actually failed.
What should I do if my AC lines are frozen?
Switch the cooling off at the thermostat and set the fan to on so the ice can melt. Running a frozen system can damage the compressor. Then call us and we'll find out why it froze, which is often low airflow or low refrigerant.
My older AC uses R-22. Can you still repair it?
Often, yes, as long as the problem isn't a refrigerant leak. R-22 is no longer produced, so recharging a leaking R-22 system gets harder to justify. We'll tell you honestly whether a repair or a replacement makes more sense.
Can you come out the same day for AC repair?
Same-day visits are often possible when you call early, though the schedule fills quickly during heat waves. Call us and we'll give you the first open window.
